The Butler Dads Club sponsors a number of events throughout the year. Our goal is to create fun events that help build memories between Butler dads and their kids. We also provide support to the Butler staff and provide plenty of opportunities to allow you to give back to the school.
Father/Son Disc Golf
The Father/Son Disc Golf night is one of our two main events of the year. This event is designed to provide a fun evening for dads to spend with their sons. There are door prizes and plenty of fun for both sons and dads as they are challenged by a 9 hole disc golf course on the grounds of Butler.
The 2011 event will be held on Friday, September 30th so mark your calendar now.
Father/Daughter Dance
The Father/Daughter Dance is the most popular event of the year. Each November, the Dads Club transforms the cafeteria into a magical ballroom. We provide keepsake photos to remember the event by and raffle off some great prizes to each grade level. If you have a daughter at Butler, this event is not to be missed.
This year the Father/Daughter Dance will be held on November 11th—so mark you calendars now.
Spring BBQ
Each spring, the Dads club sponsors a BBQ. We hold it in conjunction with the PTA silent auction and have plenty of games and bounce houses for the students. It is a fun family event.
Lunch with your Kids.
In the spring we also plan special days in which we encourage all the dads from each grade level to have lunch with their kids on the same day. This spring, keep an eye out for an email from the Dads club letting you know when your student’s Lunch with Dad day is.
Work Events
At least once per quarter, we plan special work days to work on projects or repairs requested by the teachers and staff at Butler. Some of the projects we have competed in the past include:
- Painted USA Map on the sidewalk in front of the building by the Gym
- Installed the vegetable garden used by the science teachers
- Created the Teacher of the Year ring of honor located on the ceiling of the lunch room.
- Built orchestra/band instrument cabinets
Monthly Meetings
Butler conducts our regular, monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of every month. Please check our calendar and come join us for our regular meetings. Our meetings are informal and and focused on planning our major events and work projections around the school. The staff and administration also provide important information concerning the school and the education of the students. Our monthly meetings are a great way to meet other dads and find out what is going on with your child’s school.
